Hey babes! As you might know, I was born and raised in Ghent (Belgium) but moved to Antwerp about 4 years ago. I honestly never thought I would leave me beloved hometown but here I am, followed love and work to Antwerp and I couldn’t be happier to live here. It’s funny, I used to visit Antwerp twice a year with my mother for a big shopping spree and that was about it. We took the train, got off at the Central Station and didn’t see much more than the big shopping streets. But in the last years I discovered that Antwerp is so much more than that. It’s the place to be if you love a good mix of shopping in unique stores, brunching, lunching and dining in a new hotspot or even strolling through some pieces of nature here and there
When Meyba Barcelona, the super cool urban sneaker brand, asked me to show my personal hotspots in Antwerp I was of course more than excited to do so!
Soooo buckle up and let me take you around my lovely Belgian city wearing my favourite sneakers from the Meyba FW 16-17 collection! 😉
Let’s start the day with a good breakfast shall we? My favourite go-to place lately is Barchel, an all-day brunch spot with a breathtaking interior which reminds me a bit of some cool places I visited when I was in L.A.. Think marble, ethnic pillows and gold details. And don’t even get me started on that food selection: french toast topped with fresh fruits, avocado toast or homemade cake. Can I live here please?
Sometimes, I like to take a little break from my working day with a power run or walk in some of the green parts the city has to offer. My favorite places to do this are the City Park with a nice running trail or the Botanical Garden. Have you discovered these hidden gems yet?
Andddd of course, one of my favourite activities in Antwerp would be shopping! 😉 Make sure to go to the Meir and Huidevetterstraat if you like to visit the big chain stores like H&M and Zara but don’t forget to take the time to explore the smaller streets in the ‘Wilde Zee’ area and the Schuttershofstraat if you fancy some designer shopping.
And my favourite spot to take a break from my shopping trip or just to sit for hours with my laptop to work or have some meetings? Coffeelabs! Just genuinely great coffees and food in a relaxed atmosphere!
I’m curious to know, what are your favourite spots in Antwerp?
