So, about a month ago, my little girl dream came true: I was invited to Paris with Christian Dior to celebrate the opening of The Exhibition Christian Dior: Couturier du Rêve, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the house.
I arrived in Paris around noon that day so I had plenty of time left to do some wandering in my favourite city and go for a little shopping too. I made a pitstop at Dior at Avenue Montaigne (what else :)) and fell head over heels for a white J’Adior WOC with gold chain. I imagined all my colourful summer dresses finished with this piece of art and I was sold
After shopping, I got back to the hotel, right in time to get ready for the event. I decided to wear a champagne coloured dress and finished the look with my new bag ofcourse
When arriving at the event location, at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, I was speachless. The garden was fully decorated, Dior style, with gigantic Miss Dior perfume bottles made from flowers and real life violin players which made the whole atmosphere feel like a movie. Next to international influencers and journalists, Dior ambassadors such as Natalie Portman, Robert Pattinson, Bella Hadid and Cara Delevingne were on the guestlist.
After an apéritif, it was time to go upstairs for the expo, bringing together the work of the house’s creative directors going from Christian Dior to Maria Grazia Chiuri, including Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano and Raf Simons. Next to the most iconic pieces, the expo showcased photographs and objects from the true milestones.
Next to this amazing journey through time, we learned all about the enigmatic fragrances such as Miss Dior and J’adore. I’ve been using the Miss Dior fragrance for many years now and it’s still one of my favourites!
An amazing night of sleep later, it was time for breakfast in my room, in true Dior style, right before heading home.
Thanks for this magical journey, Maison Dior!
Make sure to visit the exhibition too, it runs until January 2018!
