La Nuit by Sofitel

So who doesn’t love extra long weekends? Friday, two weeks ago, I closed my office at noon to hit the road to Luxembourg. I had only been in Luxembourg city once, around Christmas time so I was pretty excited to visit the city during spring period! I absolutely loved it last winter: the Christmas Markets, amazing shopping experience (hello La Duree, Chanel, Gucci and Smets stores – all in one big street) and great nature for city walks.

So that being said, I hopped into my car for a 2,5 hour drive and arrived at the Sofitel Le Grand Ducal hotel, a 5 Star hotel located right near the historical city centre. The reason for my stay that particular night was the ‘La Nuit by Sofitel’ event they are hosting bimonthly. It promised to be a clubbing night filled with music, drinks, bites and great people. I was really curious! 🙂

I was welcomed in a very large and luxurious room with a warm welcome surprise. I had the time to get ready and then took the elevator to the top floor for the event. The BF and I arrived a bit early so we had plenty of time to enjoy the amazing view over Luxembourg while sipping some delicious G&T’s. After about an hour, fellow blogger friends Matthias, Yentl and Thomas walked in so we could get that party started! 🙂 We enjoyed a great live show by Dutch singer Nathalie Makoma and danced the night away with a great DJ set afterwards. Good thing is that the party stops around 1AM, which leaves the hotel guests ( and me 😉 ) with plenty of rest.

I woke up the next morning being pretty excited for breakfast because I do love a good hotel breakfast and boy did the breakfast in Sofitel Le Grand Ducal not disappoint! I think I might even say it was one of the best breakfasts I ever experienced! We had a table near the window so could again enjoy the amazing 8th floor view. On our table, the cutest mini viennoiserie was waiting for us and the buffet included fresh waffles, lots of fresh fruits, yoghurts, granola, pure juices, etc. We were also served the perfect poached eggs (still have to try this at home though! 😉 ).

After fuelling up on this amazing breakfast, we packed our bags and were ready for an afternoon of exploring Luxembourg a bit more. We enjoyed a long walk in the park and did some shopping afterwards. I also met up for coffee with blogger Emilie from Mylittlefashiondiary who lives in Luxembourg and who I hadn’t seen for way too long!

We drove back to Antwerp with a breathtaking sunset on our road and looked back at a fun yet relaxing quality weekend. Can’t wait to go back!

Thank you so much for the great night and stay Sofitel Le Grand Ducal!
