Nothing beats Paris during the Christmas period right? Or actually Paris during any time of the year! 🙂 A few weeks ago my friend Klaarke and I had the brilliant idea to do a little roadtrip to Paris that weekend, just to have some girlstime, with a lot of shopping and dining, just how I like my citytrips.
We left early on Saturday morning and less than 3 hours later we arrived to the magical city. We parked our car in the centre and started our (window) shopping spree. I must admit that no city in the world can equal Paris when it comes to designer shopping. Every thinkable designer has its own monobrand store over there and the collections are extensive. As a small anecdote, I went back and forth to Paris a few years ago, just to purchase my beloved Chanel boybag that had been sold out everywhere.
We took a little break from browsing the stores at L’Avenue to have lunch. It’s my absolute favourite spot at Avenue Montaigne, both inside and on the terrace! The food is great over there but the amount of people watching you can do at this place is even better, on a lucky day you might even spot Kim and Kanye at the table next to you 😉 We were super lucky with the weather so we went for a sunny walk in the Tuileries gardens in the late afternoon. Absolutely loved it!
After an early dinner at Loulou, located at Musee du Louvre, we took an uber to our home for the weekend: the Terrass hotel, a 4 star hotel located in the heart of Montmartre (18th arrondissement) and very close to the centre. After a very warm welcome at the reception (even quite late at night) we headed to our super lovely room at the 5th floor of the hotel. I immediately got overwhelmed by all the space! Not so common for a hotel in Paris! 😉 I opened the curtains and there it was, the Eiffel tower surrounded by all the city lights, couldn’t wait to check out this view in the morning! Oh and can we also take a second to discuss the design of the bathroom, the black and white tiles with golden accents and lights gave such a chique touch!
After a good night of sleep we were ready for our second day, but… not without breakfast! And honestly, the upper floor of the Terrass hotel must be the prettiest place I ever had breakfast!! I mean look at that view! And that’s even without talking about those perfect buttery croissants, freshly cut fruit, eggs made to measure or crêpes Nutella.
Can’t wait to come back to this hotel in Spring or Summer as there is a cool rooftop bar with one of the best views of Paris in my opinion, serving delicious cocktails and other drinks! And while we’re at it, I wouldn’t mind getting a treatment at the Nuxe spa either! 🙂 After checking out, we walked a few minutes to the nearest Metro station and we were ready for a few more hours in my favourite city. Time flies when you’re having fun!
Thanks for having us Terrass hotel!
