Hey loves! Today I’m sharing something with you that has been requested so many times: a get ready with me / make-up tutorial! The perfect timing right? With New Year’s Eve coming up in a few days! I usually prefer very natural basic looks but for a party occasion, it can be a little more glam! 🙂
I teamed up with Shiseido, the innovative Japanese brand, to show you their newest weightless make-up textures. You can now make a statement with bold, impactful colour, without giving in on comfort. ‘Visible feels invisible’. This ancient art combined with SHISEIDO’s modern technology created unexpected and innovative formulas that provide incredible pigment, effortless application, and plenty of staying power.
So let’s get started, shall we? 🙂 The Shiseido make-up products can be divided into 4 categories: dews, gels, powders and inks.
I usually start with a base of only foundation and concealer before heading over to the eye make-up. For the eyes, I used the ‘Essentialist Eye Palette’: 4 beautiful and neutral powder colours that blend in with each other perfectly and which you can use for a very natural effect but also more glamorous by adding more of the darker shade onto your crease and lower eyelid. A transparent base eliminates any chalkiness and lends lids pure color that lasts 12 hours without creasing, while spherical powders offer a smooth, rollerball effect with zero drag.
Next, I used the ‘ArchLiner Ink’: a black eyeliner with a curved tip for a super precise and fine finish in ultra black. The eye look was finished with a lot of black mascara of course. I used ‘ImperialLash MascaraInk’. The bristles are aligned in a staggered position to create a unique reservoir that delivers definition in a single swipe minus any clumps. Beauty tip: For maximum definition, work the wand in a zig-zag motion from root to tip. Use the specially designed tip to tease and separate lashes.
All set for the eyes, now it’s time to work on that teint and glow. It’s amazing how you can really shape and light up your face with the right products. I started off with the ‘InnerGlow CheekPowder’, a blush and highlighter in one which is the future of cheek color thanks to a Cream Powder Matrix Technology that helps this texture stay put for eight hours. I applied it with the ‘Daiya Fude Face Duo’ brush, which is a regular brush on the one side but has a polyurethane blender on the other side. This blender mimics the feel of fingertips without absorbing and wasting product. Hygienic and easy to wipe clean, this applicator adapts to the contours of the face and builds coverage using a small amount of makeup.
The next product I used is something I’m already addicted to: the ‘Aura Dew’ in the gold colour ‘Solar’. This highlighter is multifunctional and made for Face, eyes and lip. It can be applied with the Face Duo brush or just with fingertips. I applied some on my cheekbones, upper lip (cupid bow) and right under my eyebrows. It diffuses light and illuminates in a magical way. So obsessed with this effect!
And, now it’s time for the ultimate party proof product: red lipstick! 🙂 I don’t wear red lipstick a lot but when I do, for special occasions, I always feel super feminine and glamorous! I used the Shiseido ‘Visionaire Gel Lipstick’ which is specially designed for leaving a weightless wash of high-impact colour behind. So easy to apply and super comfortable to wear, just how i like it!
So this is my finished party make-up look, ready to celebrate New Year’s Eve in style! Let me know in the comments what you think! <3
